  2.  Drink Overall 8 to 12 glasses of water per day.  The Maximum limit is 16 glasses a day, not more than this count. 
  3.  You are requested to drink water little by little throughout  the day rather than to drink two glasses all at once. This  will lessen the stress on the heart (especially when you are a heart patient) and give your body more time to absorb it.
  4.  Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink water. By the time you feel thirsty, you're probably already 2 glasses below your normal water needs. 
  5.  Drink more water after you exercise. When you exercise, your body losses most of the water. You need to drink more water to compensate for this fluid loss.For a 30-minute to 1-hour exercise, drink extra 500 ml of water.
  6.  In order to help your body recover from various infections, you really need to drink more water. So you are suggested to drink more water when you are sick even if you don't feel like drinking. 
  7.  Drink more water if you are pregnant. Women who are expecting or breast-feeding need additional fluids to stay dehydrated.The Institute of Medicine recommends pregnant women to drink 10 cups of fluid daily and women who breast-feed are suggested to take 13 cups of fluids a day.
